Dr. Roger Hiatt, a psychiatrist here in Little Rock, has written a guest editorial for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette entitled “Stability Favored”. In this piece, he defends Act One—the Arkansas Adoption and Foster Care Act—which was recently overturned by the Arkansas Supreme Court, even though 57% of the people voted in favor of the measure in 2008.
When 14-year-old Claude Choules joined the Royal Navy in 1916 he didn’t know he would eventually become the last person alive who fought in both World Wars. For him, the end came on May 6th in a Perth, Australia nursing home 110 years after his birth.
