Todd Beamer’s Prayer Wouldn’t Have Been Allowed at 9/11 Ceremony

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg decided to ban clergy-led prayer from all 9/11 observances. It was just too controversial, too divisive, too politically incorrect, and too much trouble to keep from offending people, so he did what politicians always do—take the easy way out. Aren’t we glad those first responders didn’t take the easy way out ten years ago?

A Courtyard Named 9/11

The following is a guest post from Adrianne Redding. Adrianne is currently studying Political Science at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

In June, while studying in northern Italy, I saw something that brought tears to my eyes. My group had traveled to Burano, a lagoon island near Venice that is famous for its lace. Walking through the narrow streets and over canal bridges, I saw a courtyard named “September 11, 2001”.
