Public Opinion on Same-Sex Marriage

The Witherspoon Institute published an interesting article on its Public Discourse website assessing where Americans stand on the issue of same-sex marriage.

The article found that Millennials (ages 18 – 29) are roughly twice as likely to support same-sex marriage as senior citizens (ages 65 and older). However, if the Millennial attends a Bible-believing, evangelical church, their likelihood of supporting same-sex marriage drops to a level almost equal to senior citizens.

The article also had some interesting findings on whether or not opposing same-sex marriage can be equated with being “anti-gay.”

From FRC: On TV, Profanity Grows by Bleeps and Bounds

The Supreme Court is weighing arguments in a case that could decide the FCC’s ability to regulate profanity and obscenity on TV.

Network television stations are pushing to have FCC censorship regulations stricken by the courts. If that happens, network TV could turn into “a 24-hour uncensored free-for-all.”

New York Housing Authority Relents

We’ve been keeping you posted on developments out of New York City regarding the housing authority’s push to ban religious services from public buildings. It seems at least one victory has been won in the matter.

The NYC Housing Authority has decided not to pursue a total ban on religious services in the community centers of the public housing projects.

The initial push was an expansion of a policy stating that churches could not meet in public school facilities (as you may be aware, public school’s generally have the option of making their facilities available to all kinds of groups, ranging from scout troops to civic organizations).
