Family Council is a strong believer in voter education. As such, we try to provide the people of Arkansas with as much information as possible about issues, elections, candidates, and political parties.

Today we start Part 1 in a series on political parties and their platforms by examining the Democratic Party of Arkansas’ platform ratified two years ago.

The Democratic Party of Arkansas’ platform consists of thirteen parts. They are:

  • Ethics
  • Education
  • Economic Development and Opportunity
  • Agriculture
  • Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Environment and Energy
  • Health Care
  • Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid
  • Taxes
  • Our Military, Our Veterans, and Our Nation’s Security
  • Criminal Justice
  • Civil Rights and Civil Liberties
  • Public Service

You can read the entire party platform (eight and a half pages) here.

The DPA is expected to ratify an updated party platform later this year, at its convention. Though its principles are not expected to differ substantially from what is provided here, we will try to bring you the updated platform when it is made available.
