Federal Judge: Arizona Abortion Law Can Take Effect

“Arizona’s ban on abortions starting at 20 weeks of pregnancy will take effect this week as scheduled after a federal judge ruled Monday that the new law is constitutional,” reports Fox News.

This is great news. Arkansas Right to Life spearheaded a 20-week ban here in Arkansas during the last legislative session, but it was defeated. From what I can remember, opponents of the law argued that it could be unconstitutional. This ruling on the Arizona law could help us defend the similar effort underway in Arkansas.

New Game Launched by Arkansas Lottery

Yet another game is being added to the bloated slate of games offered by the Arkansas Lottery. Called  the “Natural State Jackpot,” the new draw game begins on August 27. Read more about it from the Associated Press here.

Our take: With an average jackpot of $158,000 for this new game, the odds of winning it will be very low. This is just another way for Arkansans to lose their money.
