Fight Over Lottery Machines Not Over

Press release for immediate release.

Today, the Arkansas Lottery Commission voted unanimously to install 100 lottery ticket vending machines in retail outlets across the state of Arkansas. Their vote came on the heels of a 30-day public comment period in which citizens were allowed to voice their opinion of the machines.

Updated: Lottery Official Says Machines Could Clean Her House

Yesterday, I listened as lottery official Julie Baldridge told Dave Elswick on KARN that lottery proponents want to install the proposed lottery vending machines in places like Walgreens, Fred’s Dollar Store, and Dollar General across Arkansas.

This confirms what we’ve suspected all along: That the vending machines will not be going into gas stations and convenience stores that currently sell lottery tickets.
