
On Thursday the Town of LaGrange in eastern Arkansas passed a resolution affirming it is a Pro-Life City.
LaGrange is located south of Marianna in Lee County — both of which have passed resolutions affirming that they are Pro-Life as well.
This year the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 392 of 2021 by Rep. Kendon Underwood (R – Cave Springs) and Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch). Act 392 affirms that municipalities in Arkansas can designate themselves as Pro-Life.
Arkansas has added several Pro-Life Communities since last spring — including Washington, Benton, Crawford, Cleburne, Pope, Jackson, Saline, Faulkner, Perry, Sebastian, Lee, and White counties.
The City of Mariana, the City of Russellville, and the City of Springdale have passed resolutions affirming that they are Pro-Life as well.
Public opinion polling shows that the vast majority of Arkansans believe abortion ought to be either completely illegal or legal only under certain circumstances.
Arkansas is a firmly pro-life state, so it makes sense that communities like LaGrange would vote to affirm that they are Pro-Life.
