Over the past year, the Arkansas Lottery has shown its true colors. Due to flawed legislation passed by our state legislature, the Lottery Commission has been allowed to expand the lottery at an alarming rate with new games and constant advertising. The result: Arkansans with the least to lose have lost the most.

Now, scratch-off ticket vending machines are on their way. These new machines will entice minors to gamble—just like they have in other states. In fact, many states have problems with youth gambling as a result of ticket vending machines.

It’s time to do something about the lottery, but we need your help. We are trying to raise $1,000 in “seed money” to start our lottery fight anew. If 10 supporters donate $100, we will meet our goal. Of course, anything you’re able to donate will be deeply appreciated. You can make an online donation by clicking this link: http://familycouncil.org/?page_id=442

We will use your generous donation to:
1. Educate the public on the lottery by launching our new website, TruthAboutTheLottery.com
2. Draft two bills: one to prohibit all lottery ticket vending machines, and the other to prohibit all lottery advertising
3. Monitor, investigate, and examine every aspect of Arkansas’ state-run lottery

At Family Council, we are ready to accomplish these goals. All we need to do is raise $1,000 to get started. Please prayerfully consider giving $100, or any amount you’re able to give at this time. Just click this link to make an online donation: http://familycouncil.org/?page_id=442. With your help, we will hold the Arkansas Lottery accountable to the people of Arkansas.
