A Note From the Desk of Family Council President Jerry Cox

On Thursday the Arkansas House of Representatives made history by passing three pro-life bills in the same afternoon. Not many years ago, we had to work very hard just to find a legislator who would introduce a pro-life bill. Over the years, Arkansas has become the fourth most pro-life state in the nation with Democrats controlling both houses of the legislature. Today, Republicans are in the majority and we’re enjoying great bi-partisan success on this issue.

New Lawsuit Over Forced, Botched Abortion

An Alliance Defending Freedom allied attorney has filed suit in a Colorado court against Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and one of its doctors on behalf of a woman who claims that they forced her to undergo an abortion without anesthesia and then left part of her baby’s body inside of her.

Columnist: Marriage is America’s Best Anti-Poverty Program

Sheila Weber, executive director of National Marriage Week USA, has written a column on marriage’s contribution to the fight against poverty.

The column notes a person who graduates from high school, works full time, and postpones marriage and childbearing until after the age of 21 has only a 2% chance of living in poverty. It also points out how the decline of marriage hurts the working and lower class.
