As I mentioned yesterday, the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers has brought back their atheist display this year; it can be found on the State Capitol grounds—very near where the traditional Nativity will soon be placed. Far from being a harmless holiday exhibit, the group has devoted their entire display to an underhanded portrayal of Christmas as the pagan celebration of Winter Solstice, books that propagate atheism (such as God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens), human evolutionary theory, and famous past and current “freethinkers.”
The Arkansas Society of Freethinker’s Winter Solstice display—a four-sided display that peddles atheist and pagan propaganda—is now up again on the State Capitol grounds. It was first rolled out by the group last year during Christmastime after the ACLU sued the State of Arkansas to allow it to be placed near the traditional Nativity scene.
