M.E.: Notaries Who Don’t Wed Same-Sex Couples Violate Human Rights

Officials in Maine have announced that any notary public who weds heterosexual couples must also wed same-sex couples, or be found in violation of the state’s human rights law, regardless of the religious convictions of the notary.

This announcement comes as Maine has recently legalized same-sex ‘marriage.’
