40 Days for Life Coming in September

40 Days for Life will hold its semi-annual prayer vigil a month from now in Little Rock.

The vigil will run from September 23 through November 1. Volunteers will take turns praying on different days and at different times from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

This year’s 40 Days for Life vigils will take place on the public right of way outside the Planned Parenthood facility on Aldersgate Road in Little Rock.

40 Days for Life is not a rally or protest. It’s a peaceful assembly for prayer and reflection — and it works.

Every year we hear stories from other states of abortion clinics shut down and abortion workers coming to Christ in the wake of a 40 Days for Life prayer campaign. We want Arkansas to be next.

In the past, 40 Days for Life has said that the “no-show” rate for abortion appointments can go to as high as 75% when someone prays in front of an abortion facility.

Something as simple as praying outside an abortion facility can make a huge difference.

Radical Pro-Abortion Group Calls Pro-Life Prayer Meetings a “Public Health Emergency”

On Friday the pro-abortion group Reproaction issued a statement calling for 40 Days for Life to stop holding prayer vigils outside abortion facilities, saying,

Anti-abortion harassment never has been and never will be okay. Shaming and threatening abortion patients, providers, and the communities clogs up our sidewalks with bullying and hate speech, and inspires anti-abortion terrorists to escalate violence.

The group went on to criticize 40 Days for Life for continuing to meet for prayer while the coronavirus outbreak continues.

In another statement, Reproaction went so far as to call 40 Days for Life vigils a “public health emergency” and demanded that the group cancel its prayer campaign.

The statements overlook a couple of crucial facts:

First, 40 Days for Life prayer vigils don’t shame, threaten, or bully anybody.

These are peaceful prayer vigils where pro-lifers simply gather to pray that abortion will end.

Second, 40 Days for Life has asked volunteers to practice social distancing and follow CDC guidelines when gathering for prayer meetings.

In a YouTube video, 40 Days for Life director Shawn Carney recently told volunteers, “Be safe, be healthy, keep your distance, use your hand sanitizer, and pray for an end to abortion.”

It’s worth pointing out that Reproaction teaches women to perform drug-induced abortions at home without the oversight of a physician.

Even many abortionists know that’s a bad idea.

40 Days for Life reports that at least 228 babies have been saved from abortion since February 26! That’s really good news.

Updated: Woman Taken from LR Abortion Facility by Ambulance

On Friday pro-life volunteers say a woman was taken via ambulance from a surgical abortion facility in Little Rock.

The Facebook group for 40 Days for Life in Little Rock posted a photo of an ambulance arriving at Little Rock Family Planning Services.

The photo was capitoned, “Pray for the mom who had to leave the abortion clinic by ambulance today. #abortionhurtswomen”

We have written repeatedly about ambulance at abortion facilities in Little Rock and elsewhere.

Abortion takes the life of an unborn child, and it carries serious health risks for women.

That’s why Arkansas has passed several laws that protect women from unsafe abortion practices and help give women real options besides abortion. Unfortunately, the ACLU and Planned Parenthood have challenged some of these good laws in court.

40 Days for Life is happening in Little Rock right now.

This is a great opportunity for pro-lifers to gather outside abortion facilities and pray that abortion will end.

Pro-life volunteers report that a hearse also was seen at the surgical abortion facility in Little Rock around 2:00 PM Friday.

The hearse’s presence at the facility presumably had nothing to do with the ambulance seen earlier in the day at the same facility.

One volunteer told us the hearse picked up a small box.

In nearly 20 years of praying regularly outside the abortion facility, this volunteer said it was only the second time she had ever seen a hearse pick up a box from an abortion facility.
