Former Planned Parenthood Employee Does Tell-All Interview

A former Planned Parenthood employee has done a tell-all interview about her experiences working for the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Marianne Anderson, formerly a nurse at Indiana’s largest abortion facility, told The Criterion

“It was a money-grubbing, evil, very sad, sad place to work…I was always getting in trouble for talking too long to the girls, asking if they were sure they wanted to do this.

“You have to have so many [abortions] a month to stay open….In our meetings they’d tell us, ‘If abortions are down, you could get sent home early and not get as many hours.’”

Anderson also said the doctor performing the abortions was rude to patients, and that she often saw women and girls pressured into having abortions.

“This guy brought in a Korean girl. I had no doubt in my mind this girl was a sex slave. This guy would not leave her side. They could barely communicate. He wanted to make all the arrangements.

“During the ultrasound, she told one of the nurses that there were lots of girls in the house, and that the man hits them. She never came back for the abortion. I always wondered what happened to her. One of my co-workers said, ‘You’re better off to just let it go.’”

Taxpayer Funds Used to Fund Abortions? Say It Ain’t So!

The following blog post is by Family Council staff member Luke McCoy.

Arkansas and 32 other states have successfully passed legislation prohibiting taxpayer funds from being used for certain abortions, excluding a minority of abortions from rape, incest and a mother’s ability to survive the pregnancy.

The Hyde Amendment, which is the federal provision that prohibits certain federal taxpayer funds from being used for certain abortions originated in 1976 and has been attached to federal appropriation bills throughout the years. With that said we can rest easy knowing taxpayer money is not used for abortions in those 33 states and focus on other pro-life measures, right? Don’t get comfortable yet.

Abortion, Public Funding On the Rise at Planned Parenthood

A new report is out showing the Planned Parenthood Federation of America did a record 333,964 abortions in the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Those abortions generated an estimated $150 million of the organization’s $1 billon budget. That year, Planned Parenthood referred 2,300, pregnant women to adoption agencies. While Planned Parenthood’s abortion business is on the rise, some of their other services—like cancer screenings and contraceptives—are down.

In spite of efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of abortions saw an up tick in public funding in 2011-2012. “Taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood reached a record of $542 million last year, almost half its $1 billion-plus budget,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president at the American Life League.
