The Arkansas Lottery plans to roll out 100 lottery ticket vending machines across the state. South Carolina and other states have banned the machines because they increase underage gambling and encourage gambling addicts to buy tickets more secretly.

Now is the time to make your voice heard. The Arkansas Lottery Commission has opened up a public comment period on the machines; it ends on August 13. Family Council has decided to get involved by setting up an online comment form at the front page of FamilyCouncil.org. Go there, make your comments, and they will be hand-delivered to the Commission before the deadline.

Our goal is to receive at least 1,000 individual comments by the deadline—and we’ve already received over 250! Please go to the front page of FamilyCouncil.org to voice your opposition to lottery ticket vending machines today.
