Family Council President Jerry Cox is joining Americans for Prosperity’s Spending Revolt National Bus Tour as it rolls through Arkansas. For his part, Cox will highlight Arkansas’ state-run lottery as an example of out-of-control, fiscally and ethically irresponsible government at the local level.
“Arkansas’ state-run lottery is probably our least transparent, least accountable state agency, and it’s time to make this known,” said Cox. “The lottery drains nearly a half-billion dollars out of our state’s economy, and what do we have to show for it? Nothing but inflated promises about college scholarships, lottery executives making six-figure salaries, and a state agency that fights transparency and refuses to be held accountable to the people.”
