In Nebraska today, a new law banning abortions after 20 weeks (five months) will take effect. As KARK 4 News points out, the law is “based on the premise that a fetus can feel pain after the 20-week mark.” You can read the story by clicking here.
This is a great victory for life! While we all pray and work towards ending all abortions, further limiting when an abortion can take place is always welcome. I’m glad to see Nebraska recognizing the reality that unborn children can and do feel pain, and using that fact to push for more laws protecting life at this delicate stage.
