The Arkansas Legislature is in full swing for the 2013 session. Below are a few photos from around the Capitol Building.

Committee Room. Each lawmaker is assigned to multiple committees. Bills are first voted on in a committee before going before the entire House or Senate. A bill must pass a senate committee, a vote of all senators, a house committee, and a vote of the entire House of Representatives before it can become law.

Bureau of Legislative Research. The Bureau of Legislative Research drafts bills for lawmakers.

Legislative Committee in Action. Rep. David Meeks presides over the House Committee on Aging, Children, and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs.

Jerry is the founder and president of Family Council. He began Family Council in 1989 after a successful effort to amend the Arkansas Constitution to prevent the use of public funds for abortions. He and his wife reside in Little Rock. They have four sons.
