A recent Gallup Poll ranks Arkansas the sixth most conservative state in America. The poll ranked Mississippi, Utah, Wyoming, Alabama, and Louisiana ahead of Arkansas.
Gallup polled some 2,341 Arkansans, with about 48% of the people surveyed identifying themselves as conservative.

The extraordinarily high pay of the Arkansas Lottery’s director has been a topic of discussion ever since the lottery was established—former director Ernie Passailaigue made $324,000 a year. Now, as the Lottery Commission considers new candidates for director, they have taken a positive step towards reforming the position. The commission voted today to set the position’s annual salary at a maximum of $175,000.
