40/29 News out of Fayetteville reports: “At 1 p.m. Wednesday, television, cable, satellite and radio systems will participate in the first-ever national test of the Emergency Alert System. The test is expected to last about 30 seconds.”

Low Voter Turnout Predicted for Highway Bond Issue

According to the Arkansas News Bureau, “Secretary of State Mark Martin predicted 7 percent voter turnout” and that “13,707 of the state’s 1,542,282 registered voters in Arkansas cast ballots during the early voting period that began Nov. 1 and ended today.” Polls close at 7:30 p.m. this evening.
