Updated: Emergency Pro-Life Day

Monday we told you the House Public Health Committee needs to hear from you. They have seven pro-life bills pending before their committee, and every one of those bills needs a lot of support and a good vote.

Today we’re announcing an emergency Pro-Life Day at the Capitol Building in Little Rock Tuesday, March 22, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Come to the Capitol to lobby the members of the House Public Health Committee, and ask them to vote for all seven of the pro-life bills pending before their committee. These bills could fail if Arkansans do not make their voices heard. I hope you will be able to join us for Pro-Life Day this Tuesday, as we lobby for the passage of these bills. Please call our office at (501) 375-7000 for more information.

Below is a list of the bills we will be lobbying.

Call the House Public Health Committee Today!

There are seven good pro-life bills pending before the House Public Health Committee right now. Pro-abortion members of the committee are opposing these good pro-life bills. They say that the bills don’t do anything. Most observers believe some members of the committee simply don’t want to vote on these bills. I hope this is not the case, but I am afraid it is. All of these bills are likely to fail unless you call and ask the members of the House Public Health Committee to vote for the pro-life bills pending before their committee.

Below are names and phone numbers of members of the Health Committee. Click here to see some of the pro-life bills pending.

You can also call (501) 682-6211 to leave a message for your lawmaker at the Capitol Building.

A Connection Between Gov. Beebe and the Poison Pill Amendment?

Last week we brought a lot of attention to SB113, sponsored by Senator Cecile Bledsoe.  SB113 effectively says Under the federal healthcare law, Arkansas will not subsidize abortions with taxpayer money, except to save the life of the mother. This acts as “enabling legislation” for Amendment 68 to the Arkansas Constitution (which states that no public funds will be used for abortion—except to save the mother’s life) by applying it to the new federal healthcare law.
