The European Union has threatened to withhold financial support from the country of Hungary if it does not change its definition of marriage. Hungary currently defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
Reports Politico: “The California Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that supporters of Proposition 8 – which outlawed gay marriage – can appeal a federal judge’s ruling that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.” This is good news for the defenders of traditional marriage in California, however, it’s important that we keep an eye on this case. If this case goes to the U.S. Supreme Court, the outcome—whether good or bad—will almost assuredly impact state marriage protections around the country.
