Pennsylvania University to Offer Plan B Pills from Vending Machine

We aren’t surprised by much at Family Council, but this news out of Pennsylvania did shock us a bit this morning. Shippensburg University has made the decision to offer Plan B—otherwise known as the “morning after” pill—from campus vending machines for $25 a dose. It goes without saying that the message this sends isn’t a healthy one. This just perpetuates the wrong idea that casual sex is okay, and that the pill is the escape from unwanted consequences, in particular, potential pregnancy.

College campuses are supposed to be places where young adults are encouraged to move out of adolescence and into adulthood. Shippensburg University doesn’t seem to understand this, and instead, they’re promoting an atmosphere of “quick fixes” to bad decisions.
