Family-owned businesses are slowly making headway against Obamacare’s contraception mandate.
The mandate would require these businesses to purchase employees health insurance that includes coverage for contraception, abortifacients, sterilization, and similar items or face excessive fines.
So far 19 out of 26 plaintiffs have won stays against the mandate.

HR 2030 requires the Federal Trade Commission to promulgate rules regulating the speech of nonprofit, pro-life pregnancy resource centers.
The bill redefines “nonprofit” as a for-profit business by stating, “The Federal Trade Commission shall enforce this Act with respect to an organization that is not organized to carry on business for its own profit or that of its members as if such organization were a person over which the Commission has authority.” (emphasis added)
Alliance Defending Freedom has written a letter to Congress expressing concern over the bill’s ramifications for pro-life groups; similar legislation passed at the local level has attempted to force pregnancy resource centers to provide information dissuading women from utilizing their services, but has almost always been stricken in court as unconstitutional.
Oregon-based researchers claim to have cloned human embryos for the purpose of killing them to obtain their embryonic stem cells.
Oregon Health & Science University scientists published a paper in the online journal Cell reporting the use of cloning techniques to produce human embryos. Twenty-one of these embryos were developed until stem cells were present, after which the human embryos were killed and the stem cells harvested.
These human embryos were tiny, unborn children killed in the name of medical research. Embryonic stem cells have yet to produce any of their promised medical breakthroughs, while adult stem cells–obtained without any loss of life–have led to major medical advancements and do not involve this type of clone-and-kill research.
