Dr. Fay Boozman, (1946 – 2005), an ophthalmologist, directed the Arkansas Department of Health from 1999-2005.  He served two terms in the Arkansas Senate and ran for the United States Senate in 1998.  He founded and operated a successful medical clinic in Rogers, Arkansas. Dr. Boozman was a leader in his church and community.  All who knew him recognized his commitment to Jesus Christ and his desire to serve others.

Fay was a friend and supporter of the work of the Arkansas Physicians Resource Council. His sudden death as a result of a farming accident in 2005 stunned us, and broke our hearts. He is deeply missed. He was, as one of his many admirers has said, “one of the good guys.”

A few years ago we started recognizing doctors who share Fay’s love of God and family. The Fay Boozman Award is given annually to a doctor who exemplifies the qualities we believe Fay displayed in his own life.

If you know a doctor who displays strong Christian faith in his or her personal and professional life, consider nominating them for the 2011 Fay Boozman Award by going to http://www.fayboozman.com/

Nominations will be accepted through July 15, so don’t delay. Go to http://www.fayboozman.com to nominate a doctor for the 2011 Fay Boozman Award today.
