A Wisconsin-based atheist group is alleging a Prescott, Arizona, Christmas lighting ceremony violates the U.S. Constitution.
This is the same group who made similar allegations recently over a nativity display on the lawn of a courthouse in a Texas community.
The group sent a letter to Arizona officials stating that the holding the Christmas ceremony in front of the local courthouse was a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. The foundation said it was also upset that school children sang Christmas carols during the event.
Christmas is a nationally-recognized, federal holiday, and yet for some reason this group believes it is illegal for communities and officials to celebrate it publicly.
