Madison County Approves Pro-Life Resolution

On Monday the Madison County Quorum Court approved a resolution designating the Northwest Arkansas county as Pro-Life.

Last year the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 392 of 2021 by Rep. Kendon Underwood (R – Cave Springs) and Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch).

This good law affirms that cities and counties can designate themselves as Pro-Life.

Act 392 also says that Pro-Life Communities can install signs or banners announcing that they are Pro-Life.

To date, 19 counties and 10 cities and towns have passed resolutions recognizing unborn children and affirming that they are Pro-Life.

Benton, Washington, Crawford, Cleburne, Pope, Jackson, Saline, Faulkner, Perry, Sebastian, Lee, White, Prairie, Searcy, Carrol, Newton, Boone, and Hot Spring counties have adopted Pro-Life resolutions — and so have the cities and towns of Marianna, Russellville, Springdale, LaGrange, Moro, Aubrey, Haynes, Marshall, Western Grove, and Leslie.

It makes sense that so many communities in Arkansas would vote to affirm that they are Pro-Life.

Arkansas is the most pro-life state in America.

Arkansans overwhelmingly believe abortion ought to be either completely illegal or restricted to certain situations.

The state legislature passed a record number of pro-life laws last year and 44 pro-life laws since 2011.

A Look Back At Act 619 of 2019 Prohibiting Abortion In Cases of Down Syndrome

March 21 is International Down Syndrome Day, a day when people advocate for the rights of those with Down Syndrome.

By some estimates, most unborn babies are aborted if they are diagnosed in the womb as having Down Syndrome.

That is part of the reason why the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 619 on March 27, 2019, prohibiting abortions performed solely because the unborn child has Down Syndrome.

Unfortunately, the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and Little Rock Family Planning Services filed a lawsuit against Act 619. Today, Act 619 is among Arkansas’ pro-life laws tied up in court.

In 2019, Family Council estimated that Act 619 could save 100 unborn children from abortion each year, if enforced.

This good law may be tied up in court right now, but it’s worth remembering that public opinion polling shows most Arkansans believe abortion ought to be either completely illegal or permitted only under certain circumstances.

Arkansas’ pro-life laws are among the best in the nation, and abortion in Arkansas sits near record lows.

Slowly but surely we are winning the fight to stop abortion in our state.

Baby Saved From Abortion In Little Rock

On Wednesday 40 Days for Life in Little Rock reported that a baby was saved from abortion.

Toni — the coordinator for 40 Days for Life’s pro-life prayer vigils in Little Rock — wrote,

Great news!

A young couple stopped today after coming out of their appointment at Planned Parenthood. They wanted to know more about getting a free ultrasound. The mom said she prayed this morning for God to give her a sign that He would provide for the needs of this baby. A couple of ladies from Cathedral of St Andrew out there praying with a “Free Ultrasound” sign were used by God to answer this mom’s prayer!

Pray for this couple as they begin the journey into parenthood.
