City of Leslie Passes Pro-Life Resolution

On March 7 the Leslie City Council passed a resolution affirming that Leslie is a Pro-Life City.

Leslie — which is in Searcy County, in the northern region of the state — joins a growing list of communities that have declared they are Pro-Life.

Last year the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 392 of 2021 by Rep. Kendon Underwood (R – Cave Springs) and Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch).

This good law affirms that cities and counties can designate themselves as Pro-Life.

Act 392 also says that Pro-Life Communities can install signs or banners announcing that they are Pro-Life.

To date, 18 counties and 10 cities and towns have passed resolutions recognizing unborn children and affirming that they are Pro-Life.

Benton, WashingtonCrawfordCleburnePopeJacksonSalineFaulknerPerrySebastianLeeWhitePrairieSearcyCarrolNewtonBoone, and Hot Spring counties have adopted Pro-Life resolutions — and so have the cities and towns of MariannaRussellvilleSpringdaleLaGrangeMoroAubrey, Haynes, Marshall, and Western Grove.

We look forward to many more communities in Arkansas passing pro-life resolutions in the weeks to come.

City of Lowell Fails to Pass Pro-Life Resolution

On Tuesday night the Lowell City Council failed to pass a proposed resolution affirming the city is Pro-Life.

Lowell’s pro-life resolution reportedly received three votes in favor of it and five votes against it.

Last year the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 392 of 2021 by Rep. Kendon Underwood (R – Cave Springs) and Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch) affirming that cities and counties can designate themselves as Pro-Life.

To date, 18 counties and 10 cities and towns have passed resolutions affirming that they are Pro-Life communities.

We hope Lowell will eventually join these other communities across Arkansas by passing a resolution designating Lowell as a Pro-Life City.

As far as we can tell, Sen. Gary Stubblefield has successfully sponsored more pro-life legislation in the Arkansas Senate than any senator in Arkansas history, and Rep. Robin Lundstrum has successfully sponsored more pro-life legislation in the Arkansas House than any representative in Arkansas history.

Many of the lawmakers on this list sponsored other good, pro-life measures that — for various reasons — did not pass into law.

Dozens of lawmakers have served as co-sponsors for pro-life legislation over the years. Many have voted pro-life at every opportunity in the Arkansas House or Arkansas Senate.

In 2021 the Arkansas General Assembly enacted more pro-life legislation than any state legislature in the nation. Thanks to the hard work of these lawmakers, Arkansas is the most pro-life state in America.
