Baby born at 23 Weeks Left for Dead, Found Alive

Recently, a baby boy was born prematurely, at 23 weeks, in a Mexican hospital, with no vital signs. The doctor pronounced him dead and sent baby’s body to a refrigerator in the hospital morgue.

But when funeral workers arrived in the morgue six hours later to retrieve the body, they found that he was moving and crying.

They immediately sent for the father and the doctor and the moment was captured in a moving video. The father speaks to his son, ‘Here I am. Carry on fighting, little one, resist, my love. ‘Please God, accompany this little one, stay with him because he’s still alive.’”

And, incredibly, the baby is alive and well. Even more incredible is that here in Colorado, it would be perfectly legal to kill this baby in utero. And, in Massachusetts, lawmakers are debating whether doctors should be required to care for a baby like this out of the womb.

This baby’s humanity is obvious, even if we have lost ours.

The Mexico City Policy Football

John Stonestreet, Radio Host and President of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview.

Before the election, there was a lot of discussion in evangelical circles about single-issue voting when it comes to President. And the single issue was, of course, abortion.

Some argue that after six Republican administrations, Roe v Wade still stands. And even if it’s overturned, abortion becomes a state issue. So when it comes to abortion, it doesn’t really matter who’s in the White House.

I disagree. And here’s just one reason why. Team Biden has already announced that he will undo the so-called “Mexico City Policy” in his first 100 days

Since the days of Ronald Reagan, Republican presidents issue an order prohibiting US funds to go to NGOs overseas that promote abortion. And every Democratic president repeals the order.

In fact, Biden will likely push legislation to repeal the Mexico City rule permanently. And, to be clear, that’s just one way the U.S. has, under Democratic presidents, promoted abortion overseas.

When it comes to abortion, Presidential elections do matter.

New Zealand Legalizes Euthanasia

John Stonestreet, Radio Host and President of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview.

New Zealand is the sixth country to legalize euthanasia.

The October referendum, called the “End of Life Choice Act” had the support of both major parties, and received over 65% support from voters.

Kiwis are being promised that proposed “safeguards” will prevent the sort of abuse and spread of the practice that we’ve seen in the Netherlands and Belgium. One journalist assured Al Jazeera that the New Zealand law is “more stringent,” because it is only for “terminally-ill patients” that “they need two doctors to approve” and “there’s a long checklist” of necessary conditions.

But of course, the Netherlands and Belgian had their own “safeguards” which didn’t hold. They never do. Once a nation accepts that some lives aren’t worth living and that it’s okay for doctors to become killers, it’s impossible to prevent financial incentives from entering consideration or the most vulnerable from being pressured.

To put it another way, not even the best Kiwi intentions is immune to gravity when the slope is this slippery.
