FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Thursday, August 16, 2012

Yesterday Leo Johnson, a security guard employed by Family Research Council, was shot by an alleged gunman trying to enter the FRC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Family Council President Jerry Cox issued the following statement, saying, “Our prayers are with Mr. Johnson, his family, and his colleagues at the Family Research Council. Our organization has a longstanding relationship with FRC. We’ve collaborated with them on a number of issues in the past, and it’s heartbreaking that this kind of senseless violence would happen to them.”

Cox said he hopes Americans of all political persuasions will pause to remember those affected by this tragedy, and pray for them and their families.

Family Council is a conservative education and research organization based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
