The Arkansas Lottery Commission has announced they will hold a meeting on Thursday, August 19, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room of the Union Plaza Building at 124 W. Capitol Avenue in Little Rock.

While we have not yet obtained a copy of the agenda for the meeting, we hope—and strongly urge—that the Lottery Commission plans to use that time to review and discuss the comments they have received from the public regarding the lottery ticket vending machines they plan to install across Arkansas.

Over 1,000 people have used our website to send in comments against the lottery ticket vending machines. The Lottery Commission has expressed a pretty flippant attitude about the comment period so far, but I believe this meeting is an excellent opportunity for them to give these comments serious consideration.

Lottery Commission meetings are open to the public. If you would like to attend the meeting, I encourage you to do so; members of our staff will be in attendance, and would love to meet you there.

If you need directions to the meeting, you can call the Arkansas Lottery Commission’s office in Little Rock at (501) 683-2000.

If you have not sent in a comment about the lottery ticket vending machines, you can do so today by going to FamilyCouncil.org.

I hope to see you at the Lottery Commission’s meeting on August 19th.

P.S. If you plan to attend the meeting, please be sure to tell us so that we can look for you at the meeting itself. You can call us at (501) 375-7000 to let us know.
