I want to let you know about an upcoming event in Fayetteville.

On September 21 (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m., Asa Hutchinson will debate Ethan Nadelman on legalization of medical marijuana.

The debate will be in the Verizon Ballroom in the Arkansas Student Union on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. The best place to park for this event is in the parking deck that is attached to the Student Union. This event was precipitated by the circulation of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act language.

The group Arkansans for Compassionate Care has started a signature drive to get an initiative on the ballot to legalize medical marijuana in Arkansas. If anyone is curious, this website has more information from the perspective of those who are pushing for legalization.

There is no cost to attend the event, and it is open to the public. Even if the legalization of marijuana is not an issue you think about very regularly, I encourage you to attend this event, as I think a lot of valuable information will be shared on the dangers of “medical” marijuana and the problems that other states have faced as a result of this issue.
