NARAL Endorses Congressional Candidate in Arkansas

Earlier this month the pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC endorsed Sen. Joyce Elliott for Arkansas’ Second Congressional District.

Sen. Elliott (D — Little Rock) currently serves in the Arkansas Legislature, and is running against Congressman French Hill in the upcoming election.

NARAL started in 1969 as the National Abortion Rights Action League.

The group is one of America’s leading supporters of abortion.

According to its website, NARAL works “to ensure that abortion access is not only protected, but expanded for every American.”

NARAL is the second major pro-abortion group to make political endorsements in Arkansas.

Earlier this year Planned Parenthood endorsed congressional candidates Joyce Elliott and Celeste Williams as well as several candidates for the Arkansas Legislature.

Arkansas A.G. Asks Supreme Court to Uphold Pro-Life Law in Mississippi

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge recently joined 17 other state attorneys general in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold a pro-life law in Mississippi.

The coalition of states led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed an amicus brief with the court on Monday.

The brief argues that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals was wrong to strike down Mississippi’s law generally prohibiting most abortions after 15 weeks gestation, and it asks the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold the pro-life law as constitutional.

Other states in the coalition include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

It’s good to see Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and her team continuing to take a strong, pro-life stand.

This case could have significant implications for pro-life laws in Arkansas and our efforts to end abortion. It’s certainly one that Arkansans should keep an eye on.
