Marijuana PAC Gives Money to Arkansas Candidates

Reports filed with the Arkansas Secretary of State’s Office show the pro-marijuana political action committee Grow has given $6,000 this year to candidates for the Arkansas Legislature ahead of the May Primary Elections.

As we have written before, Grow represents the Arkansas Cannabis Industry Association, a trade association for medical marijuana in Arkansas.

So far this year Grow has donated to the following campaigns:

  • $500 to Rep. Fred Love for State Senate District 31 (See Report)
  • $500 to Rep. Jim Dotson for State Senate District 34 (See Report)
  • $500 to Sen. Jonathan Dismang for State Senate District 18 (See Report)
  • $500 to Sen. Terry Rice for State Senate District 5 (See Report)
  • $1,000 to Rep. Stephen Magie for State House District 56 (See Report)
  • $250 to Rep. Ashley Hudson for State House District 32 (See Report)
  • $1,000 to Sen. Bill Sample for State Senate District 6 (See Report)
  • $500 to Rep. David Hillman for State House District 61 (See Report)
  • $250 to Rep. Andrew Collins for State House District 73 (See Report)
  • $1,000 to Sen. Linda Chesterfield for State Senate District 30 (See Report)

As we have noted before, much of the money that Grow donates to candidates in Arkansas appears to come from marijuana businesses headquartered out-of-state.

Marijuana is a multimillion dollar business, and the corporations behind marijuana have a lot of money at their disposal.

As the 2022 election season progresses, voters need to be prepared for the marijuana industry to work hard to push its agenda in Arkansas.

Baby Saved From Abortion In Little Rock

On Wednesday 40 Days for Life in Little Rock reported that a baby was saved from abortion.

Toni — the coordinator for 40 Days for Life’s pro-life prayer vigils in Little Rock — wrote,

Great news!

A young couple stopped today after coming out of their appointment at Planned Parenthood. They wanted to know more about getting a free ultrasound. The mom said she prayed this morning for God to give her a sign that He would provide for the needs of this baby. A couple of ladies from Cathedral of St Andrew out there praying with a “Free Ultrasound” sign were used by God to answer this mom’s prayer!

Pray for this couple as they begin the journey into parenthood.

God can use you too, so if you haven’t already done so, sign up for your time on the sidewalk at www.40daysforlife.com/littlerock

Something as simple as praying outside an abortion facility can make a huge difference.

City of Leslie Passes Pro-Life Resolution

On March 7 the Leslie City Council passed a resolution affirming that Leslie is a Pro-Life City.

Leslie — which is in Searcy County, in the northern region of the state — joins a growing list of communities that have declared they are Pro-Life.

Last year the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 392 of 2021 by Rep. Kendon Underwood (R – Cave Springs) and Sen. Gary Stubblefield (R – Branch).

This good law affirms that cities and counties can designate themselves as Pro-Life.

Act 392 also says that Pro-Life Communities can install signs or banners announcing that they are Pro-Life.

To date, 18 counties and 10 cities and towns have passed resolutions recognizing unborn children and affirming that they are Pro-Life.

Benton, WashingtonCrawfordCleburnePopeJacksonSalineFaulknerPerrySebastianLeeWhitePrairieSearcyCarrolNewtonBoone, and Hot Spring counties have adopted Pro-Life resolutions — and so have the cities and towns of MariannaRussellvilleSpringdaleLaGrangeMoroAubrey, Haynes, Marshall, and Western Grove.

We look forward to many more communities in Arkansas passing pro-life resolutions in the weeks to come.
